UN Human Rights Council Receives Petition on Minorities in South Korea

What began as a domestic legal dispute in South Korea has officially reached the global stage. CAP LC, a prominent international human rights NGO holding special consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), has submitted a formal written statement to the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). The petition voices growing international alarm over institutional discrimination, social stigma, and the erosion of due process affecting minority groups, specifically focusing on the recent treatment of the Shincheonji Church of Jesus. The Core Appeal: Decisions Must Be Based on Evidence, Not Stigma In its official submission to the UN, CAP LC shifted the focus away from internal theological controversies, choosing instead to address a more critical systemic issue: the objective standards of administrative and judicial justice. The international NGO expressed deep concern that unverified negative perceptions originating in South Korea are being exported g...

[Book] Sherlock Holmes "A Scandal in Bohemia" - Arthur Conan Doyle

I am currently reading Sherlock Holmes episode by episode.

One thing I realized is that I had prejudice over the detective story.

I read books to rest my brain and did not want to read detective stories and fully operate my brain. However, it was so interesting to read Sherlock Holmes and actually it was enjoyable!

It is so thrilling to find out the truth behind the mistery. Moreover, I find that detective stories helps me to dive into the story more easily than other types of novel.

Here is the quote from "a scandal in Bohemia" which enlightened me.

"You see, but you do not observe."

This is a word Holmes says to Watson. Even though they saw the same thing (stairs in this case), Holmes carefully observed the object while Watson didn't.

Just like "seeing" does not mean "observing," "knowing" does not mean "understainding" or "realizing." Knowledge is different from realization or understading. I believe that it is only when you realize and you embodies that knowledge.

Have you heard of hormone called diddorphin? Didorphin is 4000 times stronger than endorphin, which are produced to help relieve pain, reduce stress and improve mood. What I heard is that didorphin is released when you are moved or touched by realize something.

What I am saying here is that if you pay closer attention to even small things, you will observe something that may give you the moment of "enlightenment" or "realization."

In other words, if you observe, you may embody the knowledge so that it become a part of you, not just knowledge.

In this crazy, busy world, it might be hard to pay closer attention to small things. But let's give ourselves a moment or two to observe better, realize something, and have didorphin to boost our body and mind.

What did you observe today? Share your story with me!
