In celebration of "Married Couples' Day" in South Korea (May 21st), a unique love story from the Matthias Tribe Daejeon Church of Shincheonji is shedding light on what it truly means to walk through life as a team. For this particular husband and wife, the secrets to a harmonious marriage weren't found in a textbook, but rather on the football pitch and through their shared spiritual journey. A Match Made on the Pitch The couple's story began where they both feel most at home: the football field. The husband (referred to as A), a former professional football player in Thailand, returned to South Korea for injury treatment and tryouts. It was at a local football gathering in Daejeon that he met his future wife (B). While B had been practicing her faith at the Shincheonji Daejeon Church since 2006, A naturally joined her in 2015 after learning the Bible's teachings. [Life] Korean's favourite Coffee Drink Americano


One of the most popular coffee drinks in Korea is Americano. Koreans love to drink cold Americano with ice. Regardless of season, many Koreans enjoy iced Americano. For me, I like hot Americano during fall and winter and iced Americano during the summer!

Yesterday, I was listening to a podcast which explained the history of Korea’s most popular coffee drink – Americano.

The name Americano comes from Italian which manes American Coffee. Many people agree that this coffee came during World War II. Americans normally drank drip coffee which is very mild compared to traditional Italian espresso. Expresso was too strong for American soldiers who were located in Italy and they want to drink coffee that they are used to. They started to drink espresso with additional water and this became Americano.

Americano is prepared with the ratio of 2 water to 1 espresso. Typically, Americano adds espresso first and then pour water over it . Long black which is popular in Australia is similar to Americano but it adds water first and pour espresso over water. So if you want to enjoy crema, long black can be better option than Americano which have a light layer of crema.

      yes I think it is the number one coffee drink in Korea. There are even people who drinks ice americano in cold winter

As winter settles in and the year comes to a close, many people begin to feel the cold more deeply—especially seniors living alone, neighbors with disabilities, and those who have served the nation. To bring warmth and comfort to these communities, graduates of Zion Christian Mission Center Class 116 from both the Andre Tribe and the Peter Tribe stepped forward for a special act of love: kimchi sharing.
