Shincheonji Thaddaeus Tribe Opens Church Doors for 20 Years, Strengthening Community in Jeonju

The Shincheonji Thaddaeus Tribe (Doma Tribe) in Jeonju has continued a long-running community engagement initiative, keeping its church facilities open to local residents for nearly two decades. Located in Palbok-dong, Jeonju, the Shincheonji Thaddaeus Tribe Jeonju Church recently hosted another “Open Sanctuary” event, transforming its lobby into a welcoming space for neighborhood interaction. Residents gathered to enjoy busking performances, exchange handwritten message cards, and share tea in a relaxed setting. According to the church, the initiative is not a one-time event but part of a 20-year tradition of lowering physical and social barriers between religious facilities and the surrounding community. [Event] 2023 Kaif Seoul & FRIEZE Seoul

 Kiaf Seoul is coming up!


Kiaf Seoul is an international art fair which started in 2022. The purpose of this fair is to develop the foundation of Korean art and to introdcue contemporary Korean art to the global society. Visitors can experience contemporary art and test the trends in the art market. Starting from 2022, this art fair is co-hosting with Frieze Seoul.

In the year 2023, Kiaf Seoul is scheduled from September 6th Wednesday to Septebmer 10th Sunday at Coex, Hall A&B and Grand Ballroom. This year more about 330 international galleries. 'Highlights' section is an event prepared for the first time this year where 20 artists selected by participating galleries will be introduced. If you cannot attend the event on person, don't worry! "Viewing Room" is available where you can review the art works online.  

During the Kiaf Seoul, one of the world's top 3 art fair called FRIEZE SEOUL will be held as well. This event will last from 6th to 9th of September, 2023 and you can enjoy special exhibitions as well as solo exhibitions of rookies. You can enjoy art works from all around the world at FRIEZE SEOUL.  About 120 gallaries will participate this year. 

There are two different types of tickets. One is preview ticket and the other is general admission ticket. Preview ticket gives you full access throughout the events, where as general admission allows you to only have acess on a designated date. If you are buying the general admission ticket, you must choose which art fair you will visit. Make sure to check the schedule before visting the fair.
