International Concern Grows Over South Korea's Detention of 95-Year-Old Religious Leader

The recent detention and prosecution of Chairman Lee Man-hee, the 95-year-old leader of the Shincheonji Church of Jesus, has sparked intense scrutiny from international human rights and religious freedom organizations. [Life] Introducing Namsan Public Library

There are many libraries in Seoul. Among many, I normally go to Namsan Public Library. It is located in the Yongsan-gu, near Namsan Park area. Opened in the year 1922, Namsan Public Library celebrated its 100th anniversary in the year 2022. It recently renovated 2nd floor of the building which is now used as a digital lounge. In this posting, I would like to introduce you about the digital lounge of Namsan Public Library.

Digital lounge is a cafe like area where people can freely read books, study, use PC, rent laptop computers, printers, read magazines, watch DVDs, listen to K-pops using VR.

Healing zone is an open space where people can freely do their own studies, read books, or use your own laptops or tablets. 

You can use your own laptops or tablets at a working station

Sofas and tables are available for people to use freely!

Magazines are available at the healing zone 


PC zone consists of PC computers and place to use rented laptops. In order to use the PC computers, you need to make reservation. There is a reservation zone where tablets available for you to reserve PC computers. You need to sign up for the public library system to make reservation. Using your own ID and PW, you can save a PC computer up to 180 minutes a per day. If you don't have ID and PW for public library system, there is a tablet you can use to sign up for the public library system right next to reservation tablet 😆😆😆. DVDs are available for you to rent and watch it using these PC computers.

To rent a laptop, you need to use the laptop rental machine. It is a self rent and return machine where you use your ID and PW to rent a laptop.

Also, there is a wall which periodic exhibitions are held. Currently, they are exhibiting under the them called "It was called 'Summer.'" 

K-Culture Zone is where you can select movies, musics, or dramas and enjoy them.
