The "Heavenly Exam": 7,400+ Believers in Busan Challenge Themselves with Bible Memorization

While many are moving away from religious texts, one community in Busan is doing the exact opposite. The Shincheonji Andrew Tribe recently held its "Heavenly Exam" (Cheonguk-gosi) , a rigorous test focused on memorizing and understanding the Book of Revelation. Why the "Heavenly Exam"?   This isn't just about grades. It's about a "spiritual reset." After seeing a massive 3-fold increase in participants compared to last year, over 7,459 believers sat for the exam on March 28th. The goal? To embed the Word of God into their daily lives and build a faith that isn't just a weekend hobby, but a lifestyle. Real People, Real Change: For Young Professionals: Like 29-year-old Park Jung-won, who memorized verses during his commute. "It helped me build a habit of self-discipline and reflection," he says. For Seniors: Like 72-year-old Kim Soon-bok, who stayed up late to study. "Memorizing keeps my mind focused and elevates my meditation...

Wearing Shorts at the Antarctica?!

What do you think about the statement “wearing shorts at Antarctica?” According to the recent research, the most intense recorded heat wave on Earth in March 2022 occurred near the eastern coast of Antarctica. Temperatures was at least 39 Celsius above normal. March is time when Antarctica enters into autumn season where average temperature is -50 Celsius. However, temperature rise to -10 Celsius, which is higher than temperature during the hottest season of Antarctica, in March 18th, 2022. According to the Washington Post, “researchers on-site were wearing shorts and even removed their shirts to bask in the (relative) warmth.”

Research team analyze the main reason for this anomaly is due to Antarctica’s natural variability though global warming did have some effect. This heat wave started with the unusual winds. Normally, winds blow from west to east around Antarctica and this isolate the continent from warmer regions and let it stay cold. However, this time, the winds lost its normal route and allowed a warm mass of air from southern Australia to move to East Antarctica in just four days. Blandchard-Wrigglesworth, an atmospheric scientists at the University of Washington stated that this was probably the first time it happened so quickly.

However, global warming is threatening Antarctica’s eco-system. The emperor penguin which is an iconic species in Antarctic is threatened by global warming. As sea ice losses over the past century, 4 out of 5 their breeding habitat is being lost. Because of this, accumulative number of baby emperor penguins’ death is estimated as 10,000. Problem is the speed of sea ice losses is too fast. If sea ice continues to melt, about 90% of emperor penguin will fail to breed and at the risk of extinction.

So what can we do to prevent global warming?  Here are some suggestions we can practice in our lives.

1. Spreading the story of global warming that threatens us.

2. Change the transportation method

3. Reduce the use of electricity

4. Change or modify diet

5. Using sustainable products

6. Avoid food waste

7. Wearing eco-friendly clothes

8. Plant trees.

I hope people are aware of these dangers and participate in life style that can save the Earth.
