The "Heavenly Exam": 7,400+ Believers in Busan Challenge Themselves with Bible Memorization

While many are moving away from religious texts, one community in Busan is doing the exact opposite. The Shincheonji Andrew Tribe recently held its "Heavenly Exam" (Cheonguk-gosi) , a rigorous test focused on memorizing and understanding the Book of Revelation. Why the "Heavenly Exam"?   This isn't just about grades. It's about a "spiritual reset." After seeing a massive 3-fold increase in participants compared to last year, over 7,459 believers sat for the exam on March 28th. The goal? To embed the Word of God into their daily lives and build a faith that isn't just a weekend hobby, but a lifestyle. Real People, Real Change: For Young Professionals: Like 29-year-old Park Jung-won, who memorized verses during his commute. "It helped me build a habit of self-discipline and reflection," he says. For Seniors: Like 72-year-old Kim Soon-bok, who stayed up late to study. "Memorizing keeps my mind focused and elevates my meditation...

2025, New Year’s Message of Hope from Chairman Lee Man-hee

Chairman Lee Man-hee Begins 2025 with a Visit to Daegu Church:

"Let’s Strive to Become Perfect in the Word for Salvation

The new year has begun, and with it, Chairman Lee Man-hee of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony, continues his mission to spread the Word of God. On January 5th, Chairman Lee visited the Daegu Church of the Thaddaeus Tribe for his first official engagement of 2025.

Despite being 94 years old, Chairman Lee’s passion for guiding believers and sharing the fulfillment of God’s promises remains undiminished. Last year, he visited over 70 local churches, listening to members' concerns, encouraging their faith, and emphasizing the importance of living according to the Bible—especially the promises in the book of Revelation.

The atmosphere at the Daegu Church was nothing short of joyous. With performances from traditional drumming groups, a marching band, and heartfelt cheers, members welcomed Chairman Lee with love and gratitude.

In his sermon, Chairman Lee delivered a powerful message, reminding everyone of God’s plan for eternal life. He reflected on how the Bible reveals the journey from the time of Adam to the fulfillment of Revelation, highlighting the promise of eternal life through the Tree of Life in Revelation. "True believers will seek the Tree of Life and strive to live by the Word to achieve salvation," he said.

One of his key messages was the need for self-reflection and renewal. "To become a new creation, we must fill our hearts with heaven and welcome God’s Word into our lives. Our thoughts and actions must align with the truth," Chairman Lee shared passionately.

He also emphasized the importance of following the New Covenant in Revelation without adding to or subtracting from it, as written in Revelation 22:18–19. Living according to God’s promise, he explained, is the path to receiving blessings and entering heaven.

Chairman Lee’s visit is a testament to his unwavering dedication to nurturing the faith of believers. His efforts not only strengthen individual spiritual journeys but also foster unity among churches, creating opportunities for mutual understanding and collaboration.

As we move forward in 2025, let us reflect on his encouragement to live as "perfect in the Word" and work toward building God’s kingdom in our hearts and communities. Together, we can walk the path of truth and faith, holding on to the promises of God.

Let’s make this year a time of spiritual growth and renewal, striving for the blessings and eternal life that God has prepared for those who overcome.
