"Running Together, Living Together": Shincheonji Couple Found the True Meaning of Partnership on the Football Pitch

In celebration of "Married Couples' Day" in South Korea (May 21st), a unique love story from the Matthias Tribe Daejeon Church of Shincheonji is shedding light on what it truly means to walk through life as a team. For this particular husband and wife, the secrets to a harmonious marriage weren't found in a textbook, but rather on the football pitch and through their shared spiritual journey. A Match Made on the Pitch The couple's story began where they both feel most at home: the football field. The husband (referred to as A), a former professional football player in Thailand, returned to South Korea for injury treatment and tryouts. It was at a local football gathering in Daejeon that he met his future wife (B). While B had been practicing her faith at the Shincheonji Daejeon Church since 2006, A naturally joined her in 2015 after learning the Bible's teachings. Shincheonji Chairman Man Hee Lee Visits Gumi Church, Encouraging a Faith Revolution

A Grand Welcome in Gumi

On March 12, Chairman Man Hee Lee visited the Daegu Thaddeus Tribe’s Gumi Church, where over 2,500 members gathered to welcome him with deep gratitude and respect. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation as believers eagerly awaited his message. Many expressed their admiration for Chairman Lee’s dedication, especially as he continues his mission despite his age. Among the attendees were over 100 pastors, religious leaders, and local journalists, all interested in witnessing the growth of Shincheonji firsthand and hearing the Word directly from the Chairman.

Chairman Lee’s Nationwide Tour of Revival

This visit to Gumi is part of Chairman Lee’s ongoing nationwide tour, where he travels to different churches every Sunday and Wednesday to guide believers in faith. Prior to Gumi, he had visited Seoul and Ulsan, consistently urging Shincheonji members to live a faith centered entirely on the Bible. Despite being 94 years old, he passionately delivers sermons lasting over an hour, reinforcing the importance of perfect faith and a life aligned with God’s Word. His tireless dedication has further deepened the members' respect and love for him.

A Testimony of Faith and Divine Calling

During his sermon, Chairman Lee shared a deeply personal testimony from his youth. He recounted a powerful moment when a bright star appeared to him for three consecutive nights, leading him to dedicate his life to God. He described how this encounter shaped his faith journey, urging attendees to reflect on their own spiritual paths. “Have we truly followed the Bible? Have we become the people God desires?” he asked, challenging believers to examine their faith and align themselves with God’s work today.

The Fulfillment of Revelation and the Call to True Faith

Chairman Lee emphasized that the prophecies of Revelation are being fulfilled today, urging attendees to recognize God’s work in this era. He explained that Revelation 6 speaks of the judgment of the fallen chosen people, while Revelation 7 marks the sealing of the 144,000 from the 12 tribes. He stated that those who desire salvation must seek the place where God is actively working, as described in Revelation 14. Additionally, he issued a stern warning against altering God’s Word, referencing Revelation 22:18-19, which states that those who add or take away from the Scriptures will not enter the kingdom of heaven. “We must ensure that our faith is not based on human teachings but on the unchanging Word of God,” he affirmed.

Pastors and Religious Leaders Gaining New Insight

A significant number of pastors attended the service, with many expressing a new understanding of Shincheonji’s rapid growth. One pastor shared, “After hearing the explanation of Revelation and its fulfillment, I realized why Shincheonji is growing. The Word is being testified in a way that is clear and undeniable. I now want to study the Bible more deeply and share this truth with others.”

Shincheonji’s efforts to invite religious leaders to experience its teachings firsthand have sparked increasing interest. A church representative explained, “Although this was not a large-scale seminar, we specially invited religious leaders who have shown interest in Shincheonji’s worship services. We wanted them to see and understand our faith and practices directly.” This transparent approach is helping to dispel misunderstandings and create meaningful dialogue among faith communities.

Breaking Misconceptions and Spreading the Gospel

Chairman Lee’s visit to Gumi is not just about strengthening the faith of Shincheonji members—it is also about breaking misconceptions and fostering a faith revolution. His powerful sermons challenge traditional religious views, urging all believers to return to the Bible and recognize the fulfillment of prophecy. Many who attended, including religious leaders, left with a changed perspective, eager to learn more about Shincheonji’s message.

A Commitment to Faith, Service, and Global Outreach

The Gumi Church representatives reaffirmed their commitment to living out true faith through service, love, and the spreading of the gospel. They emphasized that their mission is not just about growing in knowledge but also about practicing God’s love through volunteer work and community service. With Shincheonji’s ongoing global expansion—now boasting over 632 overseas churches and 46 domestic locations—the movement continues to gain momentum. As Chairman Lee continues his tour, believers and religious leaders alike are paying close attention to the message of Shincheonji.
