Shincheonji’s Movement of Faith Shines in Paju City: A Reflection of True Belief

On March 19, 2025, Shincheonji Church of Jesus, led by Chairman Lee Man-hee, held a powerful worship service at the Simon Tribe Paju Church in the peaceful city of Paju, Korea. Over 1,200 members gathered to reaffirm their commitment to “real” faith and the fulfillment of the prophecies in the Book of Revelation. This significant event is a reflection of the church's ongoing dedication to spreading the message of peace and true belief.

Paju: The City of Peace and Faith

Paju, located near the border with North Korea, has long been known as the "City of Peace." With landmarks like Panmunjom and the Odusan Unification Observatory, it stands as a symbol of hope for Korean reunification. This makes Paju an especially meaningful place for Shincheonji, which has previously hosted gatherings there, such as the Zion Christian Mission Center’s graduation ceremony.

In this peaceful setting, the congregation came together to hear about the fulfillment of the prophecies in Revelation, a message of both spiritual awakening and the realization of God’s word in our time.

A Vibrant Celebration of Faith

The worship service at Simon Tribe Paju Church was filled with vibrant energy. Church members, dressed in beautiful yellow hanbok (traditional Korean attire), created an atmosphere reminiscent of a golden field of ripe grain, symbolizing the fruits of faith. This gathering was not only a celebration of worship but also a powerful visual expression of Shincheonji’s teachings and the unity within the community.

The church was filled with an enthusiastic crowd of over 1,200 members, who greeted Chairman Lee with excitement, clapping and cheering in unison. Among those present were 47 pastors from the local area, further demonstrating the wide-reaching impact of Shincheonji’s message.

Chairman Lee’s Message: The Fulfillment of Revelation

During his sermon, Chairman Lee emphasized the importance of living out the teachings of the Book of Revelation in the present day. He spoke about the fulfillment of prophecy and urged everyone to examine their faith deeply, stressing that true believers must recognize and witness the realization of biblical prophecy.

Chairman Lee pointed out that the fulfillment of the prophecies in Revelation is not a distant event but one happening in our time. He called for believers to embrace this truth and become “real” believers—those who not only understand but also live by the teachings of the Bible.

He explained that the “first resurrection” mentioned in Revelation 20 refers to a process of spiritual transformation. Believers, through their understanding of God's word, can undergo a change to become more like God in character and spirit.

Faith Beyond Ritual: The Call for Real Belief

Chairman Lee strongly urged the congregation to go beyond superficial religious practices. While many people may attend church or profess belief, he stressed that true faith is about recognizing the fulfillment of God's promises in today’s world.

He pointed out that without witnessing and believing in the fulfillment of biblical prophecy, faith remains incomplete. The true believer, according to Chairman Lee, is one who actively sees the prophecies being realized and lives in alignment with those truths.

Pastors' Reflections: Overcoming Misunderstanding and Finding True Faith

The event also had a profound impact on local pastors who were present. Many of them had long sought understanding of the Book of Revelation and shared how attending the service allowed them to see the fulfillment of prophecy in a new light.

One pastor, who had struggled with understanding Revelation, shared that meeting Shincheonji Church had answered many of his questions. He confessed that his faith had been transformed, and he now sees the importance of understanding the true fulfillment of Scripture.

Another pastor, who had previously viewed Shincheonji with skepticism, expressed awe at Chairman Lee’s strength and clarity of speech. He marveled at how the 95-year-old leader could preach with such vigor, attributing it to divine support.

The Growth of Shincheonji: A Testament to True Faith

Since its establishment in Paju in 2004, the Simon Tribe Paju Church has seen incredible growth. Originally founded as Zion Christian Mission Center, the church became a congregation in 2008 and has grown from just 107 members to over 1,163, a remarkable 987% increase.

This growth reflects the powerful message of Shincheonji, which continues to resonate with people around the world who are seeking a deeper understanding of God’s word and a more authentic expression of faith.

A Global Impact: The Reach of Shincheonji’s Message

The event in Paju was not just a local gathering but a global celebration of faith. Among the attendees were international members, including a young man from South Africa who had been moved by the teachings of Shincheonji. He shared his gratitude for the church’s teachings, which helped him understand the Bible more deeply.

The Paju church leaders emphasized that Chairman Lee’s visit was an opportunity for everyone to reflect on their faith and strengthen their commitment to sharing the message of God’s word with the world.

Shincheonji's movement is about more than just worship; it’s about living out the truth of God’s word in today’s world. The event in Paju was a powerful reminder of the importance of recognizing and embracing the fulfillment of biblical prophecy.
