On June 7, 2025, the One Heart Victory Taekwondo team from Shincheonji Church of Jesus, Guri Church (Seoul James Tribe), achieved the grand prize at the 13th TSMF National Taekwondo King Championship held at Ajou University Indoor Gymnasium in Suwon. The event was packed with energy, drawing participants, parents, and spectators from across Korea.

Seniors Showing the Power of Spirit

The highlight of the day wasn’t just the fierce competition—it was the silver generation participants who captivated the audience. Members of the “One Heart Victory Taekwondo” team, composed of senior citizens from the church’s advisory council, performed with powerful movements and synchronized teamwork, scoring the highest overall.

One spectator shared,

“Even though they were older, they moved with the spirit and strength of youth. It gave me hope that I, too, can be young again.”


Demonstrating the True Spirit of Taekwondo

The TSMF official praised the event as a meaningful gathering, saying,

“This competition, which included participants from children to seniors, proved the expansive potential of Taekwondo. The Guri Church team especially opened new possibilities for the future of this martial art.”

He further remarked that senior Taekwondo is more than just exercise—it's “a door to youth.”

Adding to the excitement, Korea’s National Taekwondo Demonstration Team showcased an awe-inspiring performance with intricate poomsae, dynamic breaking, and gravity-defying kicks that earned standing ovations from the crowd.

Dignitaries such as Kim Kyung-mi, President of the Korea Silver Taekwondo Association, and other key leaders in the martial arts community were also present. Kim said,

“The Shincheonji senior team’s passion and courage inspired many people today. Their challenge has become hope for others.”

After the competition, the One Heart Victory team and the national demonstration team posed together, sharing a message of unity. This moment captured the spirit of intergenerational harmony through sports and mutual encouragement.
