The "Heavenly Exam": 7,400+ Believers in Busan Challenge Themselves with Bible Memorization

While many are moving away from religious texts, one community in Busan is doing the exact opposite. The Shincheonji Andrew Tribe recently held its "Heavenly Exam" (Cheonguk-gosi) , a rigorous test focused on memorizing and understanding the Book of Revelation. Why the "Heavenly Exam"?   This isn't just about grades. It's about a "spiritual reset." After seeing a massive 3-fold increase in participants compared to last year, over 7,459 believers sat for the exam on March 28th. The goal? To embed the Word of God into their daily lives and build a faith that isn't just a weekend hobby, but a lifestyle. Real People, Real Change: For Young Professionals: Like 29-year-old Park Jung-won, who memorized verses during his commute. "It helped me build a habit of self-discipline and reflection," he says. For Seniors: Like 72-year-old Kim Soon-bok, who stayed up late to study. "Memorizing keeps my mind focused and elevates my meditation...

Shincheonji’s Gospel Alliance Grows: Andre Church Signs MOU with Presbyterian Congregation

Shincheonji Church of Jesus continues to expand its influence across Korea, not through force or persuasion, but by the power of the Word. On June 20, Andre Church, a local branch of the Andre Tribe of Shincheonji, signed a gospel exchange MOU with a Presbyterian church affiliated with the Presbyterian Church of Korea (PCK). This agreement is one of many examples of how established churches are now choosing to collaborate with Shincheonji, drawn by the clarity and depth of its Bible teachings.

A Pastor's Decision Rooted in the Word

The pastor of the partnering church, who has over 20 years of experience in the traditional church setting, shared how his heart was stirred after attending a recent Shincheonji Bible Seminar. Hearing Chairman Man Hee Lee speak directly about testing the truth of the Word—openly and transparently—was a moment of deep conviction for him.

He reflected, “That message really made me look inward. I’ve just begun learning Revelation, but I now understand that honesty before the Word is where true faith begins.” Moved by the sight of Shincheonji believers taking Bible exams to prove their understanding, the pastor said he saw in them a sincerity and passion he rarely encountered elsewhere.

One in the Truth, Beyond Differences

During the MOU ceremony at the Andre Church Training Center, the pastor expressed hope that the two congregations could rise above denominational differences and be united in the truth. “I believe we can learn and grow together. May we bear fruit that pleases God,” he said.

Lee Jung-woo, the leader of Andre Tribe, responded with heartfelt gratitude, calling the pastor’s choice a sincere act of humility before God. “His background is one of strong faith—his family is filled with ministers, even martyrs,” Lee said. “This is no coincidence. It is God’s guidance.”

He added, “We will move forward together, preaching the gospel with a spirit of martyrdom, fulfilling the purpose of Revelation, and heading toward heaven and eternal life.”

A Widening Network of Truth-Seeking Churches

As of the end of May, Shincheonji Church of Jesus had signed gospel MOUs with 872 churches throughout Korea. Of these, 101 churches had gone a step further, changing their signs to reflect their new direction under Shincheonji’s teachings. This remarkable growth reflects a powerful movement of faith leaders returning to the Bible and prioritizing truth over tradition.

A representative from Andre Tribe commented, “We’re witnessing a major shift in the Christian landscape. More and more pastors are letting go of prejudice and stepping forward to test the Word for themselves. We look forward to partnering with many more churches and continuing to spread the revealed Word.”
