Shincheonji Church of Jesus and Presbyterian Church Hold Joint Worship Service in Daegu

Shincheonji Church of Jesus – Taddeus Tribe joined a Presbyterian church in Daegu for a joint worship service, promoting Christian unity through the Bible. Discover how interchurch fellowship is growing across Korea.

In a historic moment of Christian unity, Shincheonji Church of Jesus – Taddeus Tribe held a joint worship service with a local Presbyterian church in Daegu on July 14, 2025. This event was made possible through an official invitation, allowing Kim Soo-jin, head of the Taddeus Tribe, to deliver a sermon on stage.

This cross-denominational gathering serves as a strong sign that churches in Korea are beginning to move beyond division—embracing cooperation through the Bible and faith.

A Spirit-Filled Worship Beyond Denominational Lines

Approximately 50 attendees, including more than 10 pastors, Presbyterian church members, and Shincheonji believers, came together in one place to worship.

The service began with well-known praise songs such as Siloam, As the Waters Cover the Sea, and Like the Woman at the Well, followed by a Scripture reading of Matthew 7:30–33 from Director Cho Young-hyun of Shincheonji’s Domestic Mission Department.

Then, the tribe leader Kim Soo-jin took the pulpit and preached on the theme:

“Give Us Today Our Daily Bread,”
using Matthew 6 and John 6 as the main passages.

He shared:

“I give thanks to God for the opportunity to deliver His Word in this church, and I deeply appreciate the senior pastor and the attending pastors who helped make this moment possible.”

Citing Psalm 133:1, he added:

“How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity. God is surely pleased to see all who call on His name gathered in harmony.”

A New Model for Interchurch Bible Fellowship

This interchurch worship service in Korea wasn’t just about one day—it was a display of respect, shared faith, and the common goal of preaching the gospel based on the Bible.

The senior pastor of the hosting Presbyterian church remarked:

“I have attended six of Shincheonji’s Bible seminars over the past year. They are actively working for peace, and I hope we continue our fellowship with one heart.”'

Looking Ahead: From Worship to Ongoing Unity

Shincheonji’s Taddeus Tribe shared that this event marks the beginning of expanded Bible exchange programs, pastoral fellowship, and open dialogue across denominations.

The goal is to create more spaces for genuine spiritual connection—not through debate, but through Scripture, truth, and peace.
