The "Heavenly Exam": 7,400+ Believers in Busan Challenge Themselves with Bible Memorization

While many are moving away from religious texts, one community in Busan is doing the exact opposite. The Shincheonji Andrew Tribe recently held its "Heavenly Exam" (Cheonguk-gosi) , a rigorous test focused on memorizing and understanding the Book of Revelation. Why the "Heavenly Exam"?   This isn't just about grades. It's about a "spiritual reset." After seeing a massive 3-fold increase in participants compared to last year, over 7,459 believers sat for the exam on March 28th. The goal? To embed the Word of God into their daily lives and build a faith that isn't just a weekend hobby, but a lifestyle. Real People, Real Change: For Young Professionals: Like 29-year-old Park Jung-won, who memorized verses during his commute. "It helped me build a habit of self-discipline and reflection," he says. For Seniors: Like 72-year-old Kim Soon-bok, who stayed up late to study. "Memorizing keeps my mind focused and elevates my meditation...

“Shincheonji Is a Church Created According to the Bible”—Chairman Man Hee Lee Visits Icheon Church

Revelation is being fulfilled today. Come and listen, compare with the Bible, and decide for yourself.

On July 6, 2025, Chairman Man Hee Lee of Shincheonji Church of Jesus visited the Icheon Church of the John Tribe and delivered a powerful sermon during the Sunday service. Addressing a full sanctuary, Chairman Lee shared the fulfillment of the Book of Revelation, urging all believers to examine the Scriptures carefully and see for themselves what is being accomplished today.

“If the seed of God is in us, we will wear His image. The Word must be in us to receive salvation,” he said.

A Church Created According to the Bible

Chairman Lee emphasized that Shincheonji is not a man-made organization but a church that has been created in accordance with the promises of the Bible. He pointed to Revelation 7, where God comes to those who are sealed with His Word. “The Word is not a joke or something to be taken lightly. It is absolute,” he said, referencing Revelation 22:18–19, which warns against adding to or subtracting from the prophecies in the book.

For Chairman Lee, the fulfillment of Revelation is not a distant hope but a present reality. “Revelation is the book that shows us the path to return to God and heaven,” he stated. And that process, he added, is unfolding now—just as Jesus promised.

Challenging Prejudice Through the Word

Chairman Lee addressed the widespread prejudice and misunderstanding surrounding Shincheonji. “Some label us heretics without even checking the Word. That’s why we proposed a Bible exam, but not one person came forward,” he explained.

He stressed that Shincheonji does not only teach the meanings of Revelation but also the actual fulfillment that has taken place today—something many churches do not even attempt to address.

Testimonies from the Congregation

Many believers at the Icheon service expressed deep gratitude for a church that teaches the Bible as it is written. One woman, Bokyoung Son (58), from Gwangju, said, “I came to Shincheonji not for any personal gain, but because the Word is here. I just hope people will set aside prejudice and check it out for themselves.”

Lee Sang (56), from Seoul, added, “The reason I chose Shincheonji was the Word. No other church shows the fulfillment of Revelation like this.”

Younger believers also shared why they were drawn to Shincheonji. Minha Kang (24), who lives near Bupal Station, said, “What I heard here was completely different from traditional churches. The explanation was clear and logical. Shincheonji’s teaching is pure, and if people hear it for themselves, their views will change.”

A Call to True Faith

Chairman Lee concluded the sermon by calling all believers to become people of light who base their faith not on emotion or tradition, but on the standard of the Bible. “God will be with those who have His Word,” he said. “Let us be the ones who shine the light for others—both for ourselves and for God.”

As the congregation responded with resounding “Amen,” it was clear that for many, this wasn’t just another Sunday—it was a step closer to understanding the true meaning of faith.
