Shincheonji Thaddaeus Tribe Opens Church Doors for 20 Years, Strengthening Community in Jeonju

The Shincheonji Thaddaeus Tribe (Doma Tribe) in Jeonju has continued a long-running community engagement initiative, keeping its church facilities open to local residents for nearly two decades. Located in Palbok-dong, Jeonju, the Shincheonji Thaddaeus Tribe Jeonju Church recently hosted another “Open Sanctuary” event, transforming its lobby into a welcoming space for neighborhood interaction. Residents gathered to enjoy busking performances, exchange handwritten message cards, and share tea in a relaxed setting. According to the church, the initiative is not a one-time event but part of a 20-year tradition of lowering physical and social barriers between religious facilities and the surrounding community. Shincheonji Ulsan Church Signs Bible Exchange MOU with Independent Denomination

On August 22, 2025, Shincheonji Church of Jesus, Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony, Andre Tribe Ulsan Church (led by Head Lecturer Kim Han-su) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with an independent denomination church in Ulsan. The signing ceremony took place on the third floor of Ulsan Church and focused on expanding Bible-centered exchanges and mutual cooperation.

A Journey to Deeper Understanding

The independent church’s head pastor shared that he was first introduced to Shincheonji’s teachings through a friend five years ago.

“At first, I did not accept them right away,” he recalled. “But through the process of comparing doctrines, I came to a deeper understanding of the Bible.”

He added that after observing Shincheonji members more closely, he was impressed by their sincerity, structured faith, and passion for living according to God’s Word.

Commitment to Growth Together

Head Lecturer Kim Han-su of Ulsan Church highlighted the significance of the new partnership:

“This collaboration, based on God’s Word, will serve as a strong example for many believers. We hope it will establish a church culture where we communicate, exchange, and grow together for the fulfillment of God’s work.”

Part of a Nationwide Movement

As of August 2025, more than 900 churches across Korea have signed MOUs with Shincheonji for Bible exchange. Among them, 107 churches have updated their signs to reflect their partnership.
