Beyond the Pews: How Shincheonji Church is Revitalizing Local Communities Across Korea

When we think of a church, we often imagine activities held strictly within its walls. However, the Shincheonji Church of Jesus is redefining this image by stepping out into the streets. From the historic alleys of Incheon to the world-famous cherry blossom paths of Jinhae, here is how two different tribes are making a real-world impact. Incheon: "Little Heroes" Leading the Way In the Dohwa-dong neighborhood of Incheon, the Matthew Tribe Jemuilpo Church is teaching the next generation the value of service. On April 5th, in honor of Arbor Day (Sikmogil), young children from the elementary division joined adult volunteers for a neighborhood cleanup. This isn't a one-time event. They have conducted nearly 100 cleanup sessions since last July, maintaining a steady presence of 3–4 times a month. By picking up litter and learning the specifics of waste separation, these children are growing into environmentally conscious citizens. "Seeing the kids pick up trash made the...

“The Book of Revelation Reveals the Sure Path to Heaven”

On October 25, the Jinhae Church of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony, hosted an Open House event titled “The World I’ve Dreamed Of.”

The event, held under the Busan James Tribe, welcomed around 100 attendees — including four pastors, local citizens, and congregation members — to explore what kind of world people have longed for and how that hope is being realized through the fulfillment of Revelation.

A Joyful and Meaningful Program

The program opened with praise led by the Heavenly Culture Band, performing songs such as “Siloam,” “A Good God,” and “The Kingdom of Heaven is Like.”
This was followed by a heartwarming choir performance by the Children’s Ministry singing “The World I Want to See,” receiving loud applause and smiles from the audience.

After viewing a special video from the Shincheonji 100,000 Graduation Ceremony, Head Lecturer Im Jeong-hwan took the stage and warmly said,

“If you open your heart just a little today, I will show you — through the Bible — what kind of place Shincheonji Church of Jesus truly is.”

The Word: “The Sure Way to Heaven — Revelation”

Delivering his main lecture, Im introduced the theme “The Fulfillment of Revelation: The Sure Path to Heaven.”
He emphasized that “The Book of Revelation is the message Shincheonji Church testifies to with the greatest confidence and clarity.”

Quoting John 1:1, he explained,

“The Word is God and the Way. This way leads to heaven. At the First Coming, the path to heaven was through Jesus who came according to the Old Testament. Today, the Book of Revelation shows us the way to heaven.”

He continued,

“As written in Revelation 1:1, the Word of revelation was delivered step by step — from God to Jesus, to His angel, to the servant, and finally to the saints. Shincheonji Church has received and teaches this revealed Word in order, understanding both the true meaning and the fulfillment of Revelation.”

He added that the church offers systematic education — from beginner to advanced levels — to help believers understand Revelation, and despite exams and detailed study, “over 100,000 people come to learn every year.”

Concluding the message, he shared,

“I hope today’s time helped you understand the sure path to heaven through Revelation, and that all your future days will be filled with joy and blessings in God.”

Diverse and Interactive Experiences

Beyond the lecture, visitors enjoyed various hands-on experiences such as hand massages, aromatherapy, and acupressure sessions at the experience booths.
The “Word Plaza” booth offered follow-up education registration and an open Q&A about Shincheonji Church, providing visitors a chance to ask questions freely.

In addition, the Children’s Art Exhibition titled “The Heaven I Dream Of” featured colorful drawings expressing each child’s vision of heaven, along with a photo zone that became a favorite spot for guests.

Visitors Moved by Warmth and Inspiration

One participant shared,

“The children’s voices and songs were so pure and comforting. It felt like I experienced the heaven I had always dreamed of. I’m thankful for this opportunity to reflect on myself and feel peace in my heart.”

Through this event, the Jinhae Church offered not only joy and healing but also an opportunity for attendees to learn about the path to heaven revealed through the fulfillment of Revelation.
