A Flame of Peace Ignites in Cheongju: The 3rd Global Invitation Revelation Seminar

61 Countries, One Goal — Understanding Each Other Through Scripture

More than 500 religious leaders from 61 countries gathered in Cheongju, South Korea, for the 3rd Global Invitation Revelation Seminar, hosted by Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony.
The four-day event, held from October 30 to November 2, carried the theme:
“The Path of Understanding Led by the Bible, The Path of Peace Walked by All Religions.”

In a world where an estimated 80 percent of global conflicts stem from religious misunderstanding, this gathering aimed to find a new way forward — not through politics or economics, but through deeper understanding of sacred scripture.

Finding a Common Language Through the Bible

The Global Invitation Revelation Seminar is one of Shincheonji Church’s leading international peace-education programs.
Rather than focusing on denominational doctrines, the seminar invites religious leaders of all faiths — Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, and others — to explore the prophecies and fulfillment recorded in the Book of Revelation and to seek harmony through shared truth.

An event official explained,

“Differences in interpreting scripture are often the root of conflict between religions.
This seminar is not about conversion; it’s about mutual respect and discovering our shared values of peace.”

Participants discussed the essence of faith and the role religion should play in building a peaceful society.
The goal, organizers said, was to restore trust and harmony among religions by returning to accurate understanding of scripture.

Rapid Growth and Global Reach

Since its launch in February 2024, the Revelation Seminar has grown rapidly:

  • 1st Seminar (Feb 2024): 80 leaders from 27 countries and 10 denominations

  • 2nd Seminar (Oct 2024): 270 leaders from 57 countries, over 1,000 total attendees

  • 3rd Seminar (Oct 2025): 521 leaders from 61 countries, exceeding 1,000 participants

Each session has doubled in scale, transforming this Korean-led initiative into a global religious-education platform.
At the 3rd Seminar, leaders from Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East joined, further solidifying its status as a center for inter-faith dialogue.

Interactive and Experiential Learning

This year’s program went beyond lectures, offering hands-on and creative experiences designed to make scripture come alive:

  • “Journey Through the Bible” experiential program

  • Revelation Knowledge Contest and Awards Ceremony

  • Revelation animation screening and art exhibitions

  • Honorary Bible Teacher appointments for completing the course

There were also inter-religious prayer gatherings, presentations on peace activities, and regional round-table discussions — creating a knowledge-exchange model for inter-religious education.

Real-World Examples of Peace in Action

One of the highlights was the presentation of successful interfaith peace activities by previous participants.
Among them was Venerable Sok Bunteun, a Buddhist monk from Cambodia who attended the 2nd Seminar.
After returning home, he invited a Shincheonji lecturer to deliver a Bible presentation at Non Moni Temple, attracting 850 attendees and resulting in 215 participants signing a “Peace Commitment.”

Following the event, the temple established a “Shincheonji Religious Peace Center” and announced plans to officially invite the lecturer again during next year’s Pchum Ben Festival.
This case showed that religious exchange can move beyond dialogue into practical, scripture-based cooperation.

A Commitment to Continue the Light

On the final day, religious leaders who completed the course received Honorary Bible Teacher certificates, symbolizing their role in spreading the message of peace and understanding in their home countries.
An International Pastors’ Peace Pledge followed, where participants vowed to “practice the mission of peace based on the teachings of Scripture.”

A Shincheonji representative said,

“Through accurate understanding of the Bible, religion can recover its original mission — to bring peace and unity to humanity.”

The event concluded with renewed commitment to carry this flame of peace back to every nation represented.

Restoring the True Role of Religion

The Cheongju seminar was more than a denominational event — it was a global dialogue through scripture, transcending national and doctrinal boundaries.
Participants left inspired, united by the belief that the Bible contains the common truth that can heal divisions and guide the world toward peace.
