Shincheonji Declares 2026 as the “Year of Completing One’s Mission” at New Year Service

On January 1, 2026, Shincheonji Church of Jesus held its New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day worship service at Shincheonji Yeongdeungpo Church, led by Chairman Man Hee Lee.

During the service, Shincheonji announced its official theme for 2026 as “The Year of Completing One’s Mission.”
The message focused on the responsibility of believers in this era and encouraged members to fulfill their biblical mission by sharing God’s light with the world.

A Biblical View of the New Year

Chairman Lee explained that the biblical meaning of the New Year is not simply the passing of time, but the transition from one spiritual era to another.

He referenced Revelation chapter 6, which describes the end of one age, and Revelation chapter 7, which speaks of the sealing of the twelve tribes and the beginning of a new era. According to the message, the appearance of the twelve tribes marks a significant turning point in God’s work and gives deeper meaning to the New Year from a scriptural perspective.

The Role of the Twelve Tribes and the Tree of Life

During the sermon, Chairman Lee explained that Revelation also records God’s promise to grant eternal life through the Tree of Life.

He stated that the twelve tribes described in Revelation chapter 7 are connected to the Tree of Life in Revelation chapter 22, which bears twelve kinds of fruit each month. This Tree of Life, he said, represents the means through which God heals the nations and fulfills His promise of eternal life.

The message emphasized that believers who belong to the twelve tribes participate in this promise and are called to understand and share it clearly, based on the Bible.

A Call to Fulfill the Mission

Chairman Lee stressed that understanding the Book of Revelation is essential for guiding others to salvation. He stated that those who truly know Revelation have a responsibility to act as the Tree of Life by sharing the Word accurately, without adding to or subtracting from Scripture.

He concluded by urging believers to spread the light of God’s Word so that others may see, hear, and understand it, and ultimately become part of God’s family.

Moving Forward in 2026

By declaring 2026 as the Year of Completing One’s Mission, Shincheonji reaffirmed its focus on Bible-centered faith, fulfillment of Revelation, and active responsibility as believers.

The New Year service served as a reminder that faith is not only about belief, but also about action—living out one’s mission by sharing the light of God’s Word in today’s world.
