Pre-Monsoon Infrastructure Care: Shincheonji Busan Dongbu Branch Clears 4km Drainage Route to Prevent Urban Flooding

Proactive Flood Mitigation in Commercial Districts Ahead of the summer monsoon season and localized heavy downpours, blocked drainage infrastructure poses a direct threat to low-lying urban sectors and local businesses. Shincheonji Volunteer Group Incheon Branch Conducts Snow Removal and Plogging in Bupyeong

Improving Winter Pedestrian Safety Through Local Volunteer Action

On January 24, 2026, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Incheon Branch carried out a combined snow-removal and plogging volunteer activity in Bupyeong District, Incheon, focusing on pedestrian safety following recent snowfall.

The activity was organized in response to slippery conditions caused by accumulated and frozen snow, which posed risks to residents using sidewalks and narrow residential alleys.

Clearing Snow and Collecting Waste Along Pedestrian Routes

Volunteers worked in areas with high foot traffic, removing snow and ice from sidewalks and alleyways frequently used by local residents. In addition to snow removal, participants also collected litter along streets, integrating plogging—an activity that combines walking with trash collection—into the operation.

By addressing both road conditions and cleanliness at the same time, the volunteers aimed to improve everyday safety and walking conditions during the winter season.

Positive Response From Local Residents

Residents passing through the area expressed appreciation for the timely assistance. One local citizen commented that walking had been difficult due to slippery roads after the snowfall, adding that the cleared paths made movement safer and more comfortable.

Ongoing Commitment to Field-Based Volunteering

A representative of the Incheon Branch explained that the activity focused on routes commonly used by residents and emphasized that future volunteer work would continue to reflect local conditions and on-site needs.

The Shincheonji Volunteer Group Incheon Branch stated that it plans to maintain practical, situation-based volunteer activities that contribute directly to community safety and daily life, particularly during seasonal weather challenges.

Supporting Communities Through Timely Action

The snow-removal and plogging activity in Bupyeong highlights the Incheon Branch’s approach to volunteering—responding promptly to local conditions and prioritizing practical support that residents can immediately benefit from.

By combining environmental care with pedestrian safety efforts, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group continues to engage in community service that reflects both consistency and responsiveness.
