8 in 10 Students Have a Teacher to Confide In: Shincheonji Gwangju Church Youth Ministry Nurtures Next-Generation Growth

In a fast-paced society where teenagers often struggle with academic pressure and emotional isolation, finding trusted mentors to share personal concerns can make all the difference. A recent internal survey conducted among 512 middle and high school students at Shincheonji Church of Jesus, Peter Tribe (Gwangju Church) , revealed remarkable results: 80% of students responded that they have a teacher they can confide in regarding school life and daily challenges. Furthermore, 76% shared that they experienced personal growth through church life and youth ministry activities. Equipping Teachers Through Empathy and Dialogue Training Behind this high rate of trust is Gwangju Church's continuous focus on empowering its educators. The youth ministry regularly conducts counseling and communication training for teachers. Rather than offering generic advice, teachers review real-life student case studies, practicing how to step into a teenager's shoes and adopt empathetic language and...

The Path to Peace: How Shincheonji Philip Tribe Brought Pastors, Monks, and Citizens Together in Wonju Amid Global Uncertainty

At a time when global anxieties and interfaith friction continue to concern communities worldwide, a meaningful gathering took place in Gangwon-do, South Korea, to reflect on the true meaning of peace and practical interfaith cooperation.

On October 30, 2026, the Shincheonji Church of Jesus, Philip Tribe, hosted a special Word Seminar titled "The Path to Peace, the Duty of Religious Leaders" at the Taejang Church in Wonju. The seminar brought together over 300 participants, including Christian pastors, Buddhist monks, civic figures, and local citizens.

Addressing Global Anxieties with Interfaith Dialogue

The urgency for interfaith dialogue was highlighted against recent global sentiment. According to the '2026 Global Outlook Survey' conducted by the Gallup International Association across 59,636 respondents in 60 countries, 40% predicted that the world would face increased conflict, while only 26% anticipated a more peaceful future.

Faced with these divided expectations, attendees centered their discussions on two key themes:

  1. Past Achievements: Reviewing peace actions previously carried out by religious and civic leaders.

  2. Future Collaboration: Identifying joint interfaith initiatives that transcend denominational boundaries to build a harmonious community.

Biblical Truth and Shared Values of Love and Mercy

Speaker Lee Jeong-soo, Director of the Philip Tribe, presented the Biblical perspective on peace during his keynote address:

"Biblical peace represents the state of full restoration, where God—who departed due to human sin—returns to be with humanity," Director Lee explained. "Just as Jesus taught love and the Buddha taught mercy, religious institutions must not create conflict for institutional gain. Instead, let us unite within truth to build a peaceful world."

Voices from Faith Leaders: "Gratitude for True Harmony"

Spiritual leaders attending the event expressed deep appreciation for the open platform:

  • Venerable Beopsan (President of the Executive Members, Daegak Buddhist Jogye Order): "I have put immense effort into searching for truth throughout my life. I am deeply grateful for this peaceful venue where different religions can harmonize and communicate together."

  • Pastor Lee Joo-min (Presbyterian Ministry for Immigrants): "Jesus came to give us peace, and practicing His love is paramount. Since a significant portion of global warfare and conflict involves religion, interfaith exchange and open communication are vital."

A United Vision for Community Harmony

The seminar concluded with a shared consensus: despite differing doctrines and backgrounds, religious leaders share a solemn responsibility to serve as pillars of peace in society.

By facilitating sincere, Scripture-based dialogue among diverse faith leaders, Shincheonji Philip Tribe continues to pave a practical path toward mutual respect, unity, and lasting global harmony.
