After Thoughts on the Bible Seminar of the 12 Tribes of Shincheonji
What is an attitude or posture you take for a worship service? What comes to your mind when you think about a sermon? I usually try to be holy by staying calm, quite, somewhat low in tension and think of sermons far from being fun.
Today, I listened to the Bible Seminar of the 12 Tribes of Shincheonji. Among 12 tribes, I listened to the lecture given by the leader of Bartholomew. I would like to share three things I felt while listening to the seminar.
First thing is that sermons can be fun, fully of energy, and active even when it is all and only about the scriptures of the Bible. As mentioned above, sermons are normally too holy that it is not close from being fun, at least for me. However, Shincheonji seminar was filled with happy and fun atmosphere. Lecturers were singing hymns that suits the scripture. This created an energetic air throughout the seminar. Also, singing hymns helped me not only to concentrate on the seminar but also understand the seminar better. I sing lots of hymns that I memorize many lines on hymns. Because of that, I was able to connect the lines in hymn with the Bible scripture.
Lastly, I really thought that I need to be expert on Bible even though I am not a pastor. If I say I believe without know the Bible, I am nothing else but obeying blindly. True belief is not following blindly. I should learn every part of the Bible, check the verses and believe to make sure that I am following the truth! If I don’t know the Bible, does not check the verses, I might be following the false thinking that it is true.
To summarize, I want to and must be a smart believer, full of confidence about what I believe so that I can testify my belief to others with power and energy.
I agree, students can learn better when teachers teach with passion
