Shincheonji Busan Church: Sharing Life Through Blood Donation

Spreading Love and Hope with a Drop of Blood

The Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Busan James Tribe) in Busan recently made headlines with a meaningful blood donation campaign. This effort came in response to a request from the Korean Red Cross Busan Blood Center, addressing the urgent blood supply crisis caused by the recent respiratory illness outbreak and the holiday season.

The campaign took place outside the Busan Church, utilizing a blood donation bus. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Jan 26th 2025, more than 10 church members participated every hour, showcasing a united effort by people of all ages.

Mr. Son Tae-joon, a male church member in his 20s, shared his thoughts, saying, “I’ve donated blood at blood centers before, but donating in front of my church felt even more special. I’ll continue to participate in blood donations to spread positive influence in the world.”

Another participant added, “Knowing that my blood could save a life gave me a sense of purpose. It felt rewarding to know that even the donation certificate could be used to help others.”

The campaign attracted over 80 participants, with more than 60 individuals successfully donating blood.

A representative from the Busan Blood Center emphasized the importance of blood donation, stating, “Even with advances in science, we cannot create blood. Without donations, lives could be lost. We’re deeply grateful for the church’s participation, driven by their faith and values, despite the challenges.”

A Shincheonji Busan Church representative reflected on the initiative, saying, “Since starting blood donation campaigns in 2022, we’ve realized the critical importance of donating blood. We’re grateful to contribute to such a meaningful act of sharing life. Moving forward, we’ll continue to promote a culture of life-sharing by encouraging people of all ages to participate in blood donation.”

This campaign highlights the value of addressing blood shortages and sharing life through blood donation, leaving a lasting positive impact on the community.
