UN Human Rights Council Receives Petition on Minorities in South Korea

What began as a domestic legal dispute in South Korea has officially reached the global stage. CAP LC, a prominent international human rights NGO holding special consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), has submitted a formal written statement to the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). The petition voices growing international alarm over institutional discrimination, social stigma, and the erosion of due process affecting minority groups, specifically focusing on the recent treatment of the Shincheonji Church of Jesus. Chairman Man Hee Lee Visits Geoje Church After a Decade

On January 9th, Chairman Man Hee Lee of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony, visited the Geoje Church in the Busan James Tribe. This marked his first visit to the church in 10 years, creating excitement and inspiration among the congregation.

Despite being 94 years old, Chairman Lee continues to travel across South Korea, delivering sermons every Sunday and Wednesday at local churches. His dedication to sharing the word of God and his in-depth teachings from the Bible are deeply appreciated by Shincheonji members.

During this visit, Chairman Lee focused on the book of Revelation, emphasizing its fulfillment and the proper attitude believers should have in their faith. He explained, "The Bible was given to us by God for the purpose of restoration. Revelation speaks of those who will be saved and those who will face judgment. It is essential to understand and act according to these words."

Chairman Lee further highlighted the importance of keeping God's word pure, saying, "Adding or subtracting from Revelation brings a curse. Faith must align with Scripture because God’s word is absolute." He encouraged attendees to reflect on their lives, asking, "Where do I stand in the fulfillment of Revelation? Have I been recreated according to its message?"

The sermon resonated with many attendees. One member shared, "I am so grateful that Chairman Lee visited our church despite the cold weather to share the message of life. This inspires me to work harder for the growth and revival of our church."

Interestingly, several local pastors also attended the service, eager to hear Chairman Lee’s teachings. One pastor remarked, "His explanation of the prophecies and their fulfillment in Revelation left no doubt in my mind that he is the promised pastor. I now understand why Shincheonji is growing so rapidly. I plan to study the Bible further and encourage others to listen to these teachings directly."

Chairman Lee's visit not only strengthened the faith of Shincheonji members but also sparked interest among local communities and pastors. It served as a reminder of Shincheonji’s commitment to biblical teachings and its mission to inspire love and service through faith.

As the Shincheonji Geoje Church stated, "We will continue to live as true believers, rooted in the Bible, while practicing love and service in our daily lives."
