UN Human Rights Council Receives Petition on Minorities in South Korea

What began as a domestic legal dispute in South Korea has officially reached the global stage. CAP LC, a prominent international human rights NGO holding special consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), has submitted a formal written statement to the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). The petition voices growing international alarm over institutional discrimination, social stigma, and the erosion of due process affecting minority groups, specifically focusing on the recent treatment of the Shincheonji Church of Jesus. Celebrating 41 Years of Shincheonji: A Journey of Faith and Growth

On March 14, 2025, Shincheonji Church of Jesus celebrated its 41st anniversary, marking over four decades of dedication to spreading the Word of God. Founded in 1984, Shincheonji has grown tremendously, not only in numbers but also in its mission to share the true teachings of the Bible worldwide.

A Gathering of Faith and Gratitude

Over 5,000 attendees gathering in person to honor this special day. For those unable to attend due to space limitations, the event was live-streamed globally, allowing believers from different countries to participate and share in the joy. The ceremony featured a historical overview of the church, special videos, and a faith-inspiring message from Chairman Lee Man-hee, who emphasized the importance of living according to God’s Word.

The Mission of Shincheonji: Spreading the Light of the Word

One of the key highlights of the event was the reminder of Shincheonji’s continuous efforts to educate believers through its Zion Christian Mission Center. The church has seen remarkable growth, with over 100,000 graduates annually completing its in-depth Bible courses in recent years. This achievement is especially significant in a time when many churches worldwide are experiencing stagnation or decline.

Moreover, Shincheonji’s efforts to unite Christians through Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) have been expanding rapidly. As of February 2025, over 13,800 churches across 88 countries have signed agreements for Bible exchange programs. Additionally, over 1,500 churches worldwide have transformed their congregations by adopting Shincheonji’s teachings, furthering the mission of spreading the Word of God.

A Church That Leads by Example

Beyond spiritual education, Shincheonji continues to make a positive impact on society through various volunteer and humanitarian efforts. The church has been recognized for its record-breaking blood donation drives, including a Guinness World Record in 2022 for over 71,000 blood donation pledges in just 24 hours. These acts of service reflect Shincheonji’s commitment to practicing love, unity, and giving, following the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Looking Forward: A Future Built on Faith

As Shincheonji enters its 42nd year, the church remains focused on its mission: to spread the revealed Word of God, promote unity among Christians, and be a guiding light for those seeking the truth. With its continued growth, unwavering faith, and commitment to sharing the gospel, Shincheonji stands as a testament to what is possible when believers come together with a common purpose.

Congratulations to Shincheonji Church of Jesus on its 41st anniversary! May the next chapter be even more fruitful in fulfilling God’s will.
