UN Human Rights Council Receives Petition on Minorities in South Korea

What began as a domestic legal dispute in South Korea has officially reached the global stage. CAP LC, a prominent international human rights NGO holding special consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), has submitted a formal written statement to the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). The petition voices growing international alarm over institutional discrimination, social stigma, and the erosion of due process affecting minority groups, specifically focusing on the recent treatment of the Shincheonji Church of Jesus. The Core Appeal: Decisions Must Be Based on Evidence, Not Stigma In its official submission to the UN, CAP LC shifted the focus away from internal theological controversies, choosing instead to address a more critical systemic issue: the objective standards of administrative and judicial justice. Peter Tribe Leads Revelation Study to Help Believers Grow in Faith

Shincheonji Church of Jesus is well known for its deep and clear Bible teachings, and many people have joined because of the church’s focus on the Word of God. In Gwangju, the Peter Tribe of Shincheonji is leading the way with special Bible study programs to help believers understand God’s Word more and live according to it.

One of their special programs is called the "Heavenly Exam"—a unique test where members memorize and speak about the book of Revelation from the Bible. In fact, in 2023, Peter Tribe became the first among the 12 tribes of Shincheonji to hold this "Revelation Memorization Heavenly Exam." So far, over 21,000 members have joined this challenge!

Even an 86-year-old member joined the program with great passion, waking up early each day to study and take part in online Bible education. Younger members and even people with busy jobs are also joining in, using their free time to study and memorize Revelation. One person shared how he used his 2-hour commute each day to study and felt a great sense of achievement as he memorized each chapter.

The church believes that truly knowing and keeping God’s Word is the way to enter the kingdom of heaven, as written in Revelation 22:18–19. That’s why Shincheonji continues to offer programs like:

  • Revelation memorization exams
  • 10-minute Revelation speeches
  • Bible Golden Bell (interactive quiz competition)
  • And more!

The next Heavenly Exam will be held in November, and many members are already preparing.

As the Peter Tribe leader, Yoo Jae-uk, said, “We are working hard to remember and share the words of the New Covenant Revelation so that we can enter heaven by being united in God’s Word.”

Shincheonji Church is growing, not just in numbers, but in faith, truth, and love for the community. Let’s continue to spread the news of these wonderful activities and help others learn more about God’s Word!
