Shincheonji Simon Tribe Strengthens Leadership Through Systematic Training

Shincheonji Church of Jesus continues to foster spiritual growth and leadership within its community. The Simon Tribe has been actively training small group leaders to provide stronger pastoral care and ensure that believers receive personalized spiritual guidance.

Equipping Leaders to Shepherd More Believers

In response to the growing number of members, Shincheonji Simon Tribe has prioritized leadership development. Through the ‘Tribe Small Group Leader Training Program,’ over 300 dedicated members have been trained over a six-month period. This structured initiative ensures that each small group leader oversees no more than five members, allowing for close-knit fellowship and effective spiritual mentoring.

The training program, which has been conducted three times since last year, consists of two weekly sessions over five weeks. The curriculum includes essential topics such as ministry responsibilities, worship guidance, counseling techniques, collaboration skills, and image-building. However, beyond these practical aspects, the most critical focus of the program is helping leaders reconnect with the essence of faith.

Rediscovering the Core of Faith

Rather than simply focusing on ministry methods, the training emphasizes spiritual renewal. Participants are encouraged to reflect on their personal faith, identify areas for improvement, and restore their connection with God. By prioritizing daily prayer and scripture meditation, the program helps instill habits that strengthen spiritual resilience. Additionally, group-based activities foster teamwork, encouragement, and a spirit of unity in serving God’s mission.

Many attendees have found this program to be a source of rejuvenation in their faith journey. Lee Hyun-gu, a 39-year-old member from Goyang, shared, "I was struggling with burnout due to personal hardships, but through this training, I gained a deeper understanding of God’s heart and renewed my strength."

The program’s impact has led to increasing participation. While the first and second training sessions each had 60 to 70 members, the latest session saw 145 attendees—more than double the initial numbers.

Strengthening the Church Through Well-Prepared Leaders

Graduates of the program are now actively serving as small group leaders and in other ministry roles, sharing their insights and faith experiences with fellow believers. Their contributions not only enhance individual faith journeys but also contribute to the overall stability and growth of the church.

During the recent completion ceremony for the third session, Tribe Leader Lee Seung-joo emphasized the importance of leadership in the church, stating, "Small group leaders play a crucial role in nurturing the faith of many believers. Let us work with God’s heart, focusing on saving souls and strengthening their spiritual foundation."

Due to the success of the program, interest from overseas Shincheonji churches has surged, with many inquiring about implementing similar leadership training. Simon Tribe is committed to refining and expanding its educational initiatives to cultivate spiritually equipped leaders who can effectively carry out God’s work.

As Shincheonji Church continues to focus on both numerical and spiritual growth, its dedication to training future leaders highlights the importance of strong, faith-centered guidance within the community.
