UN Human Rights Council Receives Petition on Minorities in South Korea

What began as a domestic legal dispute in South Korea has officially reached the global stage. CAP LC, a prominent international human rights NGO holding special consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), has submitted a formal written statement to the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). The petition voices growing international alarm over institutional discrimination, social stigma, and the erosion of due process affecting minority groups, specifically focusing on the recent treatment of the Shincheonji Church of Jesus. A New Chapter of Faith: SCJ’s Andrew Tribe Members Memorize the Book of Revelation

In Shincheonji Church of Jesus, members of the Andrew Tribe recently took on a meaningful challenge—memorizing the entire Book of Revelation, from chapters 1 to 22. This was more than just memorization. For many, it became a time of personal growth and a deeper connection with God

Each member had a different reason for starting. Deacon Sungmin Kim wanted to understand God’s final promise more clearly. Yera Kim, a mother, joined while raising her children, finding time to study between daily tasks. Youth member Dongkyung Nam was inspired to overcome his limits and grow in confidence by having God’s word within him.

They made time in their daily lives by replacing entertainment with Scripture. Instead of watching videos or scrolling on social media, they listened to and recited Revelation while doing chores or during short breaks.

These members said that memorizing the Word helped them focus better during worship, become more positive in their thoughts, and feel a greater sense of purpose in their faith life.

One member shared, “I didn’t have gold or treasure, but memorizing Revelation made me feel like I gained something even more valuable.”

Although memorizing the entire book was not easy, they all agreed: with consistency and prayer, anyone can do it.

This story is just one example of how the 12 tribes of Shincheonji are actively living out their faith through the Word. The Bible is not just something they read—it is something they live and practice each day.
