UN Human Rights Council Receives Petition on Minorities in South Korea

What began as a domestic legal dispute in South Korea has officially reached the global stage. CAP LC, a prominent international human rights NGO holding special consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), has submitted a formal written statement to the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). The petition voices growing international alarm over institutional discrimination, social stigma, and the erosion of due process affecting minority groups, specifically focusing on the recent treatment of the Shincheonji Church of Jesus. The Core Appeal: Decisions Must Be Based on Evidence, Not Stigma In its official submission to the UN, CAP LC shifted the focus away from internal theological controversies, choosing instead to address a more critical systemic issue: the objective standards of administrative and judicial justice. 2,000 Gather at Shincheonji Busan James Tribe Bible Seminar on Revelation

On September 6, 2025, Shincheonji Church of Jesus, Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony, Busan James Tribe (led by Tribe Leader Lee Young-no) held a large-scale Bible seminar at Shincheonji Masan Church. Themed “The Certain Way to Heaven: Revelation,” the event drew around 2,000 participants, including pastors, journalists, and believers.

A Gathering Focused on Revelation

The seminar opened with praise and prayer, followed by a video presentation of Shincheonji’s 100,000 Graduation Ceremony. Tribe Leader Lee then delivered an in-depth lecture, emphasizing that Shincheonji is a community of believers who both testify to and keep the book of Revelation.

He explained the historical background, prophetic meaning, and fulfillment of Revelation with biblical evidence, urging participants to seek the sure path to heaven through Scripture.

Quoting Revelation 22:18–19, Lee warned that adding to or taking away from Revelation leads to judgment and stressed the importance of correct understanding and faithful practice of the Word.

Growing Recognition from Pastors

The seminar highlighted ongoing changes among established denominations. Tribe Leader Lee noted that more churches in Korea and abroad are changing their signs to reflect their acceptance of Shincheonji’s teachings, a trend he attributed to the power and truth of Revelation.

Several pastors in attendance shared their reflections:

  • One admitted, “I realized I had been teaching human commandments rather than Revelation. Seeing the fulfillment according to the Bible makes me want to learn more.”

  • Another remarked, “I was surprised to see so many believers give up their weekend to listen to a lecture on Revelation. I now feel a responsibility to testify correctly to my congregation.”

Participants also responded positively, saying their questions about heaven and Revelation had been resolved and that the seminar’s Bible-centered focus was refreshing and meaningful.

Continuing the Mission

A Busan James Tribe representative stated, “Interest in Revelation among pastors from established churches is increasing. We will continue to host Bible seminars to meet this growing need.”

The event reaffirmed Shincheonji’s commitment to spreading the correct understanding of Revelation and guiding both pastors and believers toward a faith rooted in the fulfillment of God’s Word.
