UN Human Rights Council Receives Petition on Minorities in South Korea

What began as a domestic legal dispute in South Korea has officially reached the global stage. CAP LC, a prominent international human rights NGO holding special consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), has submitted a formal written statement to the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). The petition voices growing international alarm over institutional discrimination, social stigma, and the erosion of due process affecting minority groups, specifically focusing on the recent treatment of the Shincheonji Church of Jesus. The Core Appeal: Decisions Must Be Based on Evidence, Not Stigma In its official submission to the UN, CAP LC shifted the focus away from internal theological controversies, choosing instead to address a more critical systemic issue: the objective standards of administrative and judicial justice. Shincheonji Gwangju Church Word Seminar Draws 30,000 Participants Worldwide

A Global Gathering for Revelation’s Fulfillment

On September 21, 2025, Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Peter Tribe, Gwangju Church) hosted the “Revelation Fulfillment Evidence Word Seminar” in Gwangju, South Korea. The event drew more than 30,000 participants both on-site and online, including pastors, believers, media representatives, and even overseas ministers from Ethiopia and Tanzania.

This large-scale seminar was held in response to repeated requests from local pastors and believers following Chairman Man Hee Lee’s earlier seminar in Gwangju in January. The overwhelming turnout highlighted the growing global interest in the fulfillment of Revelation.

Highlights of the Event

The program opened with a youth praise team performance, followed by segments featuring:

  • The testimony of the 100,000 Graduation Ceremony

  • MOU agreements for Word exchange

  • Accounts of church signboard changes in Korea and abroad

  • Testimonies from pastors in a specially prepared video

The lecture, delivered by Tribe Leader Yoo Jae-uk, was themed “6,000 Years of God’s History Completed Through Revelation.” Yoo explained the purpose of God’s work throughout the Bible, demonstrating how the prophecies of Revelation are being fulfilled today.

He emphasized that the true essence of faith is found in understanding God’s promises and their fulfillment, noting:

“The history of Jesus’ First Coming was the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy. Now, at the time of the Lord’s Second Coming, the prophecy of Revelation is fulfilled, completing God’s new nation and new people.”

According to Yoo, one chosen witness has seen and heard the realities of Revelation’s fulfillment and is testifying globally, leading to the re-creation of the 12 tribes of God’s new spiritual Israel.

Voices from the Field

  • Caleb Jedu, an Ethiopian minister, testified:

“The Word of Revelation from Shincheonji is unlike anything heard elsewhere. Believers in my country are building true faith based on Scripture and experiencing transformation in their lives.”

  • A pastor from the Hapdong Presbyterian Church added:

“Hearing the fulfillment of Revelation firsthand allowed me to see God’s will being realized. Word exchange will help pastors properly discern the times and the Word.”

Significance

The seminar not only reinforced Revelation’s role as the final covenant of God but also showcased Shincheonji’s expanding global influence. From Ethiopia’s 84 churches changing their signboards to ongoing MOU partnerships and Bible exams for pastors worldwide, the ripple effect of these events is evident.

A Shincheonji Gwangju Church representative concluded:

“The rising interest in Revelation comes from the desire to confirm its fulfillment with one’s own eyes. We will continue to provide opportunities for more people worldwide to encounter and understand this Word.”
