Shincheonji Thaddaeus Tribe Opens Church Doors for 20 Years, Strengthening Community in Jeonju

The Shincheonji Thaddaeus Tribe (Doma Tribe) in Jeonju has continued a long-running community engagement initiative, keeping its church facilities open to local residents for nearly two decades. Located in Palbok-dong, Jeonju, the Shincheonji Thaddaeus Tribe Jeonju Church recently hosted another “Open Sanctuary” event, transforming its lobby into a welcoming space for neighborhood interaction. Residents gathered to enjoy busking performances, exchange handwritten message cards, and share tea in a relaxed setting. According to the church, the initiative is not a one-time event but part of a 20-year tradition of lowering physical and social barriers between religious facilities and the surrounding community. 3,000 Join Shincheonji John Tribe’s Bible Seminar on the Fulfillment of Revelation

On September 6, 2025, Shincheonji Church of Jesus, Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony, John Tribe (headed by Tribe Leader Seong Chang-ho) held a large-scale Bible seminar at Shincheonji Gangdong Church. The event, titled “Testimony of the Fulfillment of Revelation,” drew strong interest from believers and pastors alike.

A Gathering of Thousands

The seminar marked the first John Tribe Bible seminar in nearly ten months, following high demand from members and guests. At the main site in Gangdong, more than 1,000 people attended in person—including around 100 pastors—while overflow spaces were quickly filled. Despite adding extra rooms, many stood to hear the lecture.

To accommodate broader participation, four nearby churches in Seongnam, Suwon, Suji, and Dongtan hosted live screenings, bringing total attendance (in person and online) to about 3,000 people.

Revelation’s Prophecy and Fulfillment

Delivering the lecture, Tribe Leader Seong Chang-ho focused on unveiling the meaning of the Book of Revelation and its fulfillment. He emphasized that Revelation records God’s purpose and Christ’s promises, which are now being revealed in reality.

“God’s purpose is to dwell with His people,” he explained. “Revelation shows how this purpose will be accomplished and how all creation will be renewed. If we truly hope for heaven, we must know God’s promises and see how they are fulfilled today.”

Citing Revelation 1:3 and 22:18-19, he reminded attendees that blessing belongs to those who keep the words of Revelation, while adding or subtracting from it leads to exclusion from heaven.

“Shincheonji testifies to both the meaning and the reality of Revelation,” he added. “By learning this Word, believers can gain certainty in their faith and confidence in the hope of eternal life.”

Responses from Pastors and Believers

Attendees described the message as eye-opening.

  • “This was the first time in my life hearing such words. It gave me a new way to see Scripture,” said one participant.

  • A Presbyterian pastor with 45 years of ministry shared, “I felt this place is truly heaven. The teaching was according to the Bible, and once you hear it, you can’t help but believe.”

  • Another attendee who had lived a life of faith for 40 years commented, “The explanation was clear, even for beginners. I am deeply grateful.”

The event also included a promotional hall tour, where participants learned about Shincheonji Church’s history and mission.

Continuing the Mission

A Shincheonji John Tribe representative concluded:
“Revelation 22 warns that those who add to or take away from this book cannot enter heaven. This seminar was an opportunity to learn Revelation without alteration and to reaffirm faith in God’s promises. We will continue to hold seminars to spread the testimony of Revelation’s fulfillment to many more.”
