When Pastors Repent: A Turning Point at Shincheonji’s Revelation Bible Seminar
On September 27, the Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony, once again filled its Cheongju Church to capacity for the Revelation Prophecy and Fulfillment Bible Seminar. Over 7,500 participants — pastors, believers, and curious citizens — gathered to hear Chairman Man Hee Lee deliver a message on the fulfillment of the Book of Revelation.
While the overflowing attendance made headlines, what truly marked this seminar as extraordinary was not the numbers, but the voices of repentance that followed.
Pastors Confront Their Misconceptions
For decades, Shincheonji has been labeled and misunderstood by mainstream denominations. Yet, at this seminar, pastors themselves stood up and admitted how wrong those assumptions had been.
-
A Presbyterian pastor in his 60s confessed, “I used to mock and condemn Shincheonji without knowing. Today I realize how shameful that was.”
-
Another pastor admitted he believed Shincheonji was a place without worship or Christ: “But seeing the Chairman lifting his hands to God, I felt what true faith looks like.”
-
A participant from Gwangju shared, “I came to see for myself whether the rumors were true. I confirmed with my own eyes that what the world says is simply not reality.”
These were not small admissions. They reflected a shift — from suspicion to recognition, from prejudice to humility.
A Call to Learn and Change
Chairman Lee reminded pastors that Revelation warns against altering God’s Word:
“A shepherd must be able to answer their congregation’s questions with Scripture. You must know the reality of Revelation to lead God’s people.”
The message struck deeply. Many pastors expressed a new determination to study Shincheonji’s teachings directly:
-
An 80-year-old pastor said, “Each time I see the Chairman’s conviction at his age, I believe the Spirit of God is with him. I want to learn the true meaning of Revelation and testify boldly myself.”
-
A Protestant believer admitted, “I realize I’ve been deceived for years, mistaking falsehood for truth. Today I saw why Shincheonji’s teaching is called the highest.”
From Curiosity to Renewal
For others, the seminar sparked not only repentance but longing. A 40-year-old attendee from the Holiness Church said:
“The bright faces, the high-level sermon, the atmosphere — I was moved. I want to learn this Word and restore my faith.”
These heartfelt testimonies highlight what numbers alone cannot show: a spiritual turning point where walls of prejudice are breaking down, and pastors themselves are seeking transformation through the revealed Word.
A New Chapter
This was Shincheonji’s fourth Revelation seminar in 2025, bringing the total number of participating pastors to over 2,000 this year alone. But the greater story is the shift happening inside hearts.
Repentance is not weakness — it is the beginning of renewal. As more pastors publicly confess their misconceptions and seek to study the reality of Revelation, the question is no longer “Why is Shincheonji growing?” but rather “How will this wave of change reshape Christianity itself?”
Shincheonji’s Revelation seminars continue to prove that when truth is revealed, even the most resistant hearts can be moved to repentance, humility, and new life.
