“A Love Stronger Than Blood”: We Are One Jeonbuk Volunteer Association Brings Hope Through Blood Donation

Amid summer heat and holiday seasons that worsened blood shortages, young volunteers in Jeonbuk showed love stronger than blood. The We Are One Jeonbuk Volunteer Association of the Shincheonji Church of Jesus has been working tirelessly to save lives through continuous blood donation campaigns.

From July 28 to October 18, 2025, a total of 891 volunteers joined the 2025 We Are Red Blood Donation Campaign, helping stabilize the local blood supply and offering hope to patients in need.

Youth Leading the Way in Saving Lives

Jeonbuk, a region facing population decline and aging, is proving that compassion has no limits. Young volunteers from Jeonju, Iksan, Gunsan, and Jeongeup partnered with the Korean Red Cross Jeonbuk Blood Center to donate blood through both mobile buses and personal appointments.

Their goal was 800 participants—but they exceeded it with 891 donors. Over the past three years, the Jeonbuk branch has reached a total of 4,500 blood donations and contributed donation certificates worth over 45 million KRW.

This steady participation has not only helped hospitals but also inspired many citizens to see blood donation as a simple act of love that saves lives.

Stories of Compassion

Many participants shared touching reasons for joining.

Bae Yeon-jeong (49, Gunsan) said,

“One of my family members once needed a transfusion. Donating blood feels like the right way to give back. As long as I’m healthy, I’ll continue to do it every year.”

Kim Sang-tae (25, Jeonju), who has blood type AB, shared,

“When I learned that AB blood is often in short supply, I felt responsible to help more. Blood donation even helped me build healthy habits since I now manage my schedule and health better.”

A representative from the Jeonbuk Blood Center expressed gratitude, saying,

“In a time when blood supply is low nationwide, We Are One’s Jeonbuk campaign has been a great help. Their consistent effort to spread the culture of donation is truly inspiring.”

Continuing the Mission of Love

Kim Shin-hyeon, head of the Jeonbuk Volunteer Association, said,

“We hope our efforts bring real hope to patients fighting illnesses. We will continue to promote blood donation culture throughout Jeonbuk.”

Since 2023, the group has gathered over 1,500 donors every year, and by the end of this year, they plan to hold another mobile blood donation bus campaign to ensure a stable blood supply during the winter season.

The Power of Sharing Life

Through We Are One’s consistent campaigns, Jeonbuk’s youth have shown that love and compassion can overcome any crisis. Their message is simple yet powerful:
“One donation can save three lives.”

By giving their blood, they are also giving hope—proving that the greatest miracle is the love that flows from one heart to another.
