A True Test of Faith: Shincheonji Uganda Church Hosts Revelation Bible Exam for Pastors

In Uganda’s capital city, Kampala, a unique test of faith and knowledge took place — one that is setting a new spiritual standard across Africa.

On September 27, the Shincheonji Church of Jesus, Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony – Uganda Branch (Thomas Tribe) hosted an Open Bible Exam on the Book of Revelation at the Global Hotel in Kampala. The event drew 200 participants, including 100 Shincheonji members and 100 local Protestant pastors, all of whom took the same 100-question test over two hours.

Setting a New Standard: The Word as the Measure of Faith

According to Shincheonji Uganda Church, this was “not a competition, but a sincere effort to establish Revelation as the true standard of faith.”

The inspiration came from Chairman Man Hee Lee, who has long emphasized that the Book of Revelation must serve as the compass of Christian faith, citing Revelation 22:18-19 — that adding to or taking away from the Word separates truth from falsehood.

By testing both Shincheonji members and pastors under equal conditions, the Uganda Church sought to demonstrate that Scripture itself, not human doctrine, should define what is orthodox or heretical.

Honest Reflections from Pastors

After completing the exam, several pastors openly shared their reflections.

“I realized how ashamed I am that I never truly studied Revelation,” said one pastor. “Though I’ve always considered it important, I never took the time to understand its prophecy and fulfillment.”

Another admitted,

“I repent before God for ignoring the words of Revelation and teaching it through my own interpretation. This experience has changed how I view the Word.”

Their words reflected a shared awakening — a renewed desire to learn directly from the Bible rather than relying on tradition.

A Turning Point for Ugandan Christianity

For Shincheonji believers in Uganda, the exam was proof that a new era of understanding has begun.

“Unlike the pastors, Shincheonji members were confident,” said Martin Bakabulindi, a church member who also took the test. “We live in a time when even ordinary believers can clearly understand Revelation. I hope this knowledge spreads throughout Uganda’s Christian community.”

Following the exam, Shincheonji Uganda Church signed MOUs for Gospel exchange with seven local churches, further strengthening ties through the Word. In recent years, an increasing number of Ugandan congregations have voluntarily aligned with Shincheonji, recognizing the clarity of its biblical teaching.

Rapid Growth and a Vision for the Future

Since its humble beginning in 2015 with just 27 members, Shincheonji Uganda Church has now grown to over 8,400 believers — a remarkable sign of the growing hunger for truth and scriptural understanding in Africa.

The church plans to continue hosting public Bible exams and seminars to deepen inter-church dialogue based on Scripture and to nurture a new generation of pastors grounded in Revelation’s fulfillment.

“Knowing the reality of Revelation is the first step toward guiding believers in truth,” a church representative said. “We hope more pastors will study the Word and join in this movement of revival and understanding.”

A Spiritual Milestone for Africa

The Revelation Bible Exam in Uganda marks more than an academic event — it represents a spiritual milestone for African Christianity.
By returning to the unaltered Word and testing all believers by the same biblical standard, Shincheonji Uganda Church is helping to restore the essence of faith itself: knowing, understanding, and keeping the fulfilled Word.
