From a Small Basement to a Global Faith: 42 Years of Shincheonji Church of Jesus

A Small Beginning 42 Years Ago

Forty-two years ago, a small group of believers began their faith life in the basement of an apartment building.
The place was simple and small, but their hearts were full of passion for God’s word.

They wanted to understand the Bible clearly and follow God’s will.
That small beginning later became the seed of a great work of faith.

Today, tens of thousands of believers from around the world gather every year.
What made this growth possible was not just enthusiasm, but a strong faith centered on God’s word.

Celebrating the 42nd Anniversary

On March 15, Shincheonji Church of Jesus held its 42nd anniversary service at Shincheonji Cheongju Church.

About 2,200 members attended in person, and many believers from Korea and overseas joined through a live online broadcast.

The service was a meaningful time to look back on the past 42 years.
Members expressed thanks for Jesus, the martyrs, and the believers who sacrificed before them.

It was also a time to renew their commitment to a faith centered on the Bible.

A Church That Focuses on God’s Word

During the service, Chairman Lee Man-hee emphasized that Shincheonji Church of Jesus believes according to the Bible.

He shared that believers should follow God’s will and become people who are recognized by God and the angels.

For the past 42 years, the church has focused on sharing the fulfillment of the book of Revelation with the world.

This mission is clearly seen through the Zion Christian Mission Center, a Bible education center.

Since the first graduation in 1991, many students have completed Bible education.
In 2019, more than 100,000 graduates were recorded, which is very rare in the religious world.

Last year, 59,192 graduates gathered for the 116th graduation ceremony, and many of them were international students.

This shows that the gospel of Revelation is spreading around the world.

Sharing Love Through Service

Shincheonji Church of Jesus has also taken part in many volunteer activities.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, 3,741 members donated blood plasma to help develop treatments.
In 2022, about 70,000 members donated blood in just two weeks during a national blood shortage.

The church has also helped during disasters such as earthquakes, wildfires, and oil spills.

In addition, members continue to serve their communities by helping foreign workers, sharing food with elderly people living alone, and caring for neighbors in need.

Through these actions, they practice the value of love taught by Jesus.

Looking Forward With the Same Faith

A church representative said the past 42 years were possible because of the dedication of believers and their faith in God’s unchanging word.

The church plans to continue sharing the truth of the Bible with the world while keeping the same heart and faith as in the beginning.

What began in a small basement has now become a global mission of faith.

And the journey continues.
