Shincheonji Volunteer Group Jecheon Branch Marks 10 Years of Free Haircut Service for Veterans

Monthly Volunteer Service for Senior Veterans For the past 10 years , the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Jecheon Branch has provided free haircut and beauty services for senior veterans in Jecheon, North Chungcheong Province . The service takes place once a month at the Jecheon Veterans’ Hall , where five veterans’ organizations are based. The program, called “Donghaeng” (Walking Together) , began in September 2015 to express appreciation for veterans and encourage interaction through volunteer activities. On volunteer days, seniors gather at the hall while volunteers help them with haircuts and spend time talking and catching up. About 500 Residents Attend Community Open House

The Shincheonji Icheon Church of the John Tribe held an open house event on March 10 at its church in Jeungpo-dong, Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, welcoming around 500 visitors, including local community figures, church members’ families, and acquaintances.

The event was organized to create an opportunity for open communication with residents, allowing visitors to learn directly about the church and ask questions in person.

Interactive Zones and Cultural Experiences

The open house featured several areas designed to provide information and interactive experiences for visitors, including:

  • Photo Zone showcasing the church’s history and community service activities

  • Experience Booths offering activities such as calligraphy and caricature drawing

  • Consultation Booths where visitors could ask questions about Shincheonji Church of Jesus

Participants were able to freely explore the spaces while learning more about the church’s activities and history.

Seminar on “What Is the Truth in the Bible?”

A key part of the program was a Bible seminar led by Hong Gi-cheol, the head instructor of Shincheonji Icheon Church.

The seminar focused on the topic “What Is the Truth According to the Bible?”

During the lecture, Hong explained that the Bible records God’s promises and that the Book of Revelation contains promises that believers should understand and keep today.

He also referenced Revelation 22:18–19, emphasizing the importance of understanding the message of Revelation.

Hong added that Shincheonji Church teaches the Book of Revelation from the meaning of the prophecy to the realities of its fulfillment, based on the principles of the Bible.


Visitors Share Positive Feedback

Several attendees said the event helped them better understand the church.

One visitor, Kim Hyun-cheol (pseudonym, 65) from Icheon, said:

“I had many questions about Shincheonji before, and hearing the explanation directly helped me understand better. I hope there will be more opportunities like this for open communication without prejudice.”

Another participant commented that the church atmosphere felt bright and welcoming, adding that the lecture was clear and interesting.

Expanding Communication With the Community

A representative of Shincheonji Icheon Church said the open house was intended to introduce the church as a more open space and encourage dialogue with local residents.

The church also stated that it plans to continue organizing activities that allow for ongoing communication and engagement with the community.
