Driving Safely for Chuseok: Shincheonji Peter Tribe Supports Transport Drivers and Local Expo Success in Gwangju and Jeonnam

Behind every smooth, joyful Chuseok (Korean harvest festival) homecoming journey are dedicated bus and taxi drivers who work tireless hours on heavily congested roads.

To promote road safety and express heartfelt gratitude to these essential transport workers, the Shincheonji Church of Jesus, Peter Tribe, organized a comprehensive "Safe Driving Campaign" across major cities in Jeollanam-do and Gwangju—including Gwangju, Mokpo, Yeosu, and Gwangyang—on September 20, 2026.


Practical Care and Warm Encouragement for 126 Drivers

Equipped with sashes reading "Safe Driving Today, We Support You!", church members greeted 126 taxi and bus drivers at designated drop-off areas.

Volunteers handed out practical care packages specifically assembled to prevent highway drowsiness and fatigue during peak holiday traffic:

  • Anti-drowsiness items: Energy drinks, bottled water, coffee, anti-drowsiness gums, and candies.

  • Vehicle air fresheners: Adding comfort to daily driving environments.

Alongside gifts, banners were installed along campaign areas highlighting fundamental traffic safety rules: avoiding speeding, refraining from cell phone use while driving, wearing seatbelts in all seats, and taking extra caution during adverse weather.

In Yeosu, the campaign took on an added civic dimension. Shincheonji Yeosu Church linked its road safety outreach with local community support for the upcoming 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo.
